B Lydian Descending 4ths Pattern

B Lydian Descending 4ths Pattern
This video shows a B Lydian descending 4ths pattern. The Lydian mode has a very distinctive, bright sound. We have a raised fourth degree, which is the only difference between the Ionian and Lydian modes.

If you are not yet familiar with the Lydian mode, try the 2-octave Lydian scale first.

Compare:

Ionian (major):

B-C#-D#-E-F#-G#-A#-B
